Hello VGA Members,
Welcome to the 2009 golf season. My wish to all of you is fairways and greens!
Don’t miss the Spring meeting on Sunday, May 17th at 2:00pm. The meeting will be held in the community service rooms downstairs at MTA headquarters in Palmer. Thanks to MTA for providing a free meeting place to non-profit organizations like ours!
This year your VGA entry fee includes entry into a Match play tournament. This full handicap event will begin July 1st and the Championship match will conclude in August. Play will be head to head and the matches will be played at the course of the contestants choosing. The winner of the VGA Match Play will hold the winner’s cup until the next years event. See details and rules on the tournament application form.
I would also like to announce we do have some openings on committees and always love to see more members involved. Besides your USGA handicap, the VGA provides college scholarships worth thousands of dollars to high school students and provides grants to local golfers for specific needs.
I hope to see as many of you at the spring meeting. If not I’ll look for you on the golf courses.

At the Fall meeting our elections resulted in a new Secretary Valerie Martinez and
new Treasurer Deb Affinito. Please plan to attend our Spring meeting to Welcome them both. We should all give a huge thank you to the out going Sec. Bonnie Prudence and Treasure Jules Mead. Both have been at your service for many many years. Larry Whiting was confirmed in as VP and Bert Verrall as President. Bob Stoll has agreed to stay one more year as Scholarship chair.
We have 2 tournaments scheduled for this summer.
Congratulations to Amos Stephens from Settlers Bay who received his GCSAA Class A
membership last fall. Check out the News tab for more information.
If you were lucky enough to play over the winter, be sure to post your scores. If you are posting for a NON VGA
Tournament event (all VGA tournament post-able scores are posted for you by Faye), be sure to enter the "TYPE" as "TOURNAMENT score". Example posting a 101 in a Tournament
If you have any suggestions or you wish to volunteer time to your association, contact the proper committee member or Bert, the Pres at vgagolf@mtaonline.net , and he will get you the correct person! Help make your association, the association you want it to be. We need you to do it!

drawings for Alaska Airlines miles through out the golf season
and special drawings for those who have used our Easy Biz
Account. We see a pattern .... the Savage family is taking advantage of a good
tool and Lonesa is just pain lucky!!
